Advocacy Manager
Position Overview
The Advocacy Manager supports the strategic priorities of NCJWSTL’s advocacy department by coordinating issue-based programs, managing key initiatives like Courts Matter, engaging volunteers, and representing the organization in community partnerships. This role also plays a vital part in our social media presence and communications strategy to amplify NCJW’s mission.

Reports To: Director of Advocacy
Key Responsibilities
Advocacy Program Support
- Provide direct staff support to the Vice President of Advocacy and the State Policy Advocate (SPA) and other volunteers at the direction of the Director of Advocacy.
- Assist the Director of Advocacy with planning and executing advocacy campaigns, community programs, and legislative activities.
- Staff the Advocacy Series of educational events.
- Help develop and implement the annual Jefferson City advocacy day, including logistics, materials, and travel coordination.
- Represent NCJWSTL at advocacy events, trainings, meetings, and coalitions as needed.
- Attend NCJW’s Washington Institute and other key advocacy convenings.
Courts Matter Initiative
- Coordinate the Courts Watch program, a community-based court observation project focused on Order of Protection hearings.
- Build public awareness of the Missouri Court Plan and the importance of fair, impartial courts.
- Serve as liaison to courts-related coalitions and external partners.
- Recruit, schedule, and manage Court Watch volunteers.
- Work with volunteers to collect, analyze, and report on court data every six months.
Communications & Social Media
- Serve as the advocacy point person for NCJWSTL’s Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook platforms.
- Create and schedule content for advocacy-related campaigns and activities.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Associate to align messaging and develop coordinated communications plans for events and programs.
Community & Organizational Engagement
- Attend evening Executive and Board meetings, as well as other events or programs as required.
- Represent NCJW in external coalitions, collaborations, and community initiatives.
- Support additional organizational projects as assigned by the Director of Advocacy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in Political Science, Nonprofit Management, Social Work, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in advocacy, organizing events, fundraising, or campaign work.
- Strong organizational, planning, and project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Experience working with volunteers and/or community coalitions.
- Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with online platforms and database systems.
- Expertise using social media for advocacy and outreach.
- Entrepreneurial spirit with ability to collaborate and work independently.
- Familiarity with or experience in the Jewish community is a plus.
Additional Information
· Some evening and weekend work is required.
· Up to 30% of time may involve travel.
