How Do We Help?
NCJWSTL works with school social workers, counselors, and nurses to determine the needs of underserved children at their school. When a child needs an item from the closet, they are discreetly assisted by school staff and parents are notified.
Each school has two NCJWSTL liaisons who work with school personnel to stock and maintain the closet. We continually adapt inventory at each school to meet their evolving needs as the seasons change and as the children grow.
Volunteers pick up and deliver what the school needs from the NCJWSTL office. The frequency of visits depends on each individual school’s needs and the availability of the volunteers.
