Solid Lines Productions presents a staged reading telling a labor trafficking story. Talk-back session follows the presentation.
CALLOW
Working in a truck stop, Michael only knows the stories of the road as a bystander. But when he begins to hear about something more sinister than the usual trucker fare to which he is accustomed, he decides he needs to take action. In CALLOW, an original play premiering at Arts Against Trafficking, Michael decides to save a trafficked woman whom he has just met, Gabrielle, from her trafficker at the motel at which she is forced to work. But are good intentions enough? What happens when those good intentions are substituted for genuine insight and understanding? A play that pushes audiences to confront their own motivations, CALLOW explores the consequences of disregarding the advice of Alexander Pope: “A little learning is a dangerous thing; Drink deep, or taste not the Pierian spring.”
