Coffee Talk with Harley Hammerman

April 30, 2024

8:30 am - 9:30 am

Harley Hammerman, a favorite guest of Coffee Talk, is back by popular demand for his own “Table Talk.” Harley is a retired radiologist and entrepreneur. On the side, he collects historical memorabilia, including those from long-gone beloved restaurants in the St. Louis area, and created Lost Tables to keep those restaurants in our minds. This April Coffee Talk, Harley focuses on Culpepper’s Restaurants which just closed its last remaining location. Culpepper’s began as a liquor store on the corner of Euclid and Maryland nearly 90 years ago and grew into a locally owned mini-chain of five restaurants. The flagship location was credited with introducing us to Buffalo-style chicken wings, unisex bathrooms and not serving children under 12 years of age. Herb Glazer was the owner. Harley will discuss Culpepper’s colorful history and, of course, will take audience questions on other lost restaurants.

We will have a drawing for a gift card to a popular restaurant.
