The cliché stating that the wheels of justice turn slowly is especially true when it comes to survivors of
domestic violence. Despite much progress, the legal system continues to pose many challenges, and
cases can linger in the system for months, if not years. Is there anything we can do to help?

NCJWSTL is excited to welcome back Jaclyn Driscoll, formerly of St. Louis Public Radio and current
spokesperson for Illinois House Speaker Chris Welch, who will speak about her personal experience
with domestic violence and the inadequate process of the justice system. She will also discuss how
we can become better advocates on behalf of survivors.
