Advocacy in Action Lunch and Learn
August 20, 2020
12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Topic: Advocacy Workshop/Legislative Recap
The 2020 Missouri legislative session was certainly unlike any other. While NCJWSTL advocated for policies that improve the lives of women, children and families, the legislature had other plans and spent a majority of its truncated session NOT working on important issues like the budget or COVID-19 relief. Instead, they focused their effort on trying to overturn Clean Missouri, which was passed by an overwhelming number of Missouri voters in 2018, and on which we will be voting on once again in November (Vote NO on Amendment 3!)
To help us make sense of this unprecedented situation, we are excited to welcome Jaclyn Driscoll, Statehouse and Politics Reporter for St. Louis Public Radio. She joined the politics team in 2019 after spending two years at the Springfield, Illinois NPR Member station. She is passionate about Missouri politics and will enlighten us with her behind the scenes viewpoint of the goings-on in Jefferson City.
We hope you will join us in the discussion on August 20th!
