Black women die from pregnancy complications two to three times more than their White and Hispanic counterparts, according to a January 30, 2020 CDC report. Although these health disparities existed long before the COVID-19 crisis, the pandemic has certainly exacerbated the situation for pregnant black women. In light of this, what can we do to help and what do we need to know?
Please join us for our next Virtual Lunch and Learn, where we will hear from Dr. Vetta Thomspon. Dr. Thompson is the E. Desmond Lee Professor of Racial and Ethnic Diversity and the Associate Dean for Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity at the Brown School. Dr. Thompson also serves as Co-Director of the Center for Community Health Partnership and Research at the Institute for Public Health at Washington University.
