NCJWSTL will host a discussion on gun violence as a public health crisis with Poli Rijos, MSW, LCSW, the Center Manager, Center for Community Health Partnership and Research at Washington University’s Institute for Public Health and Jessica Meyers, St. Louis Area Violence Prevention Commission.
Every day in the United States 100 lives are taken with guns, making it the second leading cause of death for American children and teens. Despite these staggering statistics, minimal responses have been made to combat gun violence at a national and state level. Our speakers will discuss actions we can take to help curb this epidemic. They will also speak about the rise in gun sales during the COVID-19 crisis.
For more information and to RSVP, please contact Jen Bernstein at 314-277-9080 or jbernstein@ncjwstl.org. Because of recent news about Zoombombing (people hacking into Zoom calls), all future NCJWSTL Zoom meetings will require a password.
