NCJWSTL Capital Campaign

We’re moving next door and we need your help to continue to improve the lives of women, children and families in our community.

Our capital campaign allows us to raise funds for building our new offices and meeting spaces, and the purchase of furniture, fixtures, and equipment. Our new building enlarges the footprint of our previous offices, Resale Shop, programming, advocacy, and community impact while staying in a neighborhood that resonates with our members, donors, and the community. Our work to improve the lives of women, children, and families will be enhanced for maximum impact now and into the future.

Why

It is imperative that we continue our mission of improving the lives of women, children and families. To do so, we need to be in a facility that accommodates our popular and growing Resale Shop as those revenues support our operations.

  • Sales floor and donations space as well as parking are currently at capacity.
  • Office and meeting space have also reached their saturation point as initiatives and staff have expanded.
  • Offsite storage space for programs like Kids Community Closets and Back to School! Store need to also be condensed.

This new facility will accomplish all of this, plus allow for future creative programming.

    Expansion

    St Louis Women’s Network

St Louis Women’s network — a soon to launch project of NCJWSTL — is a 2-tiered plan to optimize access to a broad range of services for women of all demographic groups across the STL region.

    Tier 1

Tier 1 will bring non-profit service providers together quarterly to explore ways they can collaborate to best meet the needs of clients in a variety of spheres, such as: financial, housing, childcare, food insecurity, mental health and much more.

    Tier 2

Tier 2 will provide both an online community and a physical location where:

    • women in need of services can easily identify and connect with relevant resources.
    • providers can offer online and in-person resources, programs, classes and workshops.
    • participants can form online or in-person subgroups for mutual support (eg: working moms, women re-entering the workforce, women caring for aging family members, etc.)

    Budget

$3.6M to purchase the building, make needed upgrades prior to moving in and establish a dedicated building fund to secure the future.
