COMMUNITY SERVICE
The 9th annual

was a resounding success! Thanks to all the volunteers, staff, supporters and donors who gave so much time and effort to make July 26 a special day for 900 plus pre-selected underserved elementary-school children. The day is over but the need continues. Next year, we celebrate our 10th anniversary. You can help.
SPONSOR A CHILD
Your contribution of $150 will provide a complete back-to-school package of clothing and supplies for one child. Donate HERE.

In 2009, NCJW served more than 900 kids through the Back-To-School! Store with the help of almost 500 volunteers. Click here to see pictures of the event.

Kids Community Closet
The "Kids Community Closet" is stocked with basic essentials that a child may need just to stay in school. Necessities such as coats, underwear, gloves, shoes and personal care products can be provided on an emergency basis. NCJW currently has closets in two St. Louis school districts.

Kids Community Closet
Kids Community Closet, an extension of the Back-to-School! StoreTM, delivers brand-new clothing, coats, school supplies, etc. directly to qualified children right at their schools. We began with two closets in the Wellston School District. Through this initiative, NCJW can serve hundreds or potentially thousands more students each year. We will meet the evolving needs of the children as the seasons change and they outgrow their clothes. Click here to learn more. Click here to volunteer. Lydia’s House
(Transitional housing shelter)
Through the Lydia’s House Adopt-an-Apartment project, NCJW volunteers furnish an apartment to serve as transitional housing for a previously abused woman and her children.
Volunteers provide linens, towels, kitchen accessories, wall art and other household items for women as they make a fresh start. The purchase of new items, gift cards and donations enables NCJW to make life better for victims of domestic abuse.
Wife-Widow-Woman
This long-standing support group is available to women of all ages, races and religions who have been widowed. A professional social worker teams with a widow who has been through the program to lead the group. Two 12-week sessions are held each year. Click here for information. Oral History
